Parenting Strategy Team

Stockton-on-Tees Children’s Trust Board recognises the importance of promoting good parenting and has developed a Parenting Strategy and Action Plan. This Plan identifies areas for development and aims to improve services for parents and carers across the whole borough. The focus of this strategy is to ensure that services are developed in accordance with parent and carers needs and are easily accessible to them, enabling them to develop or enhance their skills and confidence to become more effective in meeting their children’s needs and improve their life chances.

The aim of the Stockton-on-Tees Parenting Strategy is to ensure that all parents and carers are able to:

·         make confident, informed choices, which they feel are right for their families

·         shape services to respond to their needs

·         work in partnership with services to reinforce the benefits for their children

·         access additional support when needed

·         access good information, advice and guidance when and where they need it
